Macro Mage

These are the Frost Mage Macros I’m using for 4.3. If you have any suggestions or questions about them, please let me know.

Frost Mage Macros 4.3

Frost One Shot Macro

/Use DpsTrinketName
/Cast Icy Veins
/Cast Frostbolt

How it Works – They must be in a Deep Freeze before you use this Macro. After you click it your going to cast 2 Ice Lances followed by either a Frost Nova or Cone of Cold, then maybe a few Frostbolts if you can get them off.

Ice Lance Macro

/use [mod:alt]Frostfire Bolt;[mod:shift,@arena3]
[@mouseover,exists,harm][]Ice Lance

How it Works – This will cast Ice Lances to your mouseover target. It will cast a Frostbolt if you hold down alt, and if you hold down shift it will cast a Ice Lance on the third person in your Arena frame.

Quick Iceblock Macro

#showtooltip Ice Block
 /stopcasting
 /cancelaura Ice Block
 /cast Ice Block

How it Works – Just click it once for a Iceblock, then click again to cancel it.

Counterspell Macro

#showtooltip Counterspell
 /stopcasting
 /cast [modifier, target=focus] Counterspell
 /cast [nomodifier] Counterspell

How it Works – Hold down shift, then click it to cast a  Counterspell on your current focused target.

Fire Mage Macros 4.3

Living Bomb Macro

#showtooltip Living Bomb /cast
[modifier:alt, target=focus]
Living Bomb/cast [nomodifier:shift] Living Bomb

How it Works – What it doesIf you hold down alt you will cast Living Bomb on your current focused target. If you don’t hold it down it will be cast on your current target.

Fireball Macro

#showtooltip Fireball /cast
[modifier:alt, target=focus]
Fireball/cast [nomodifier:shift] Fireball

How it Works – Just like the previous one. If you hold down alt it will cast Fireball on your current focused target. If you don’t hold it down it will be cast on your current target.

Combustion Macro

#showtooltip Combustion
/stopcasting /cast Combustion

How it Works – Stops whatever your casting, and cast a very quick Combustion on your target.

Quick Flamestrike Macro

#show Flamestrike
/cast Presence of Mind /cast Flamestrike

How it Works – This will cast PoM followed by a quick Flamestrike.

Arcane Mage Macros 4.3

Spam Arcane Missiles Macro

/cast [nochanneling:Arcane Missiles] Arcane Missiles

How it Works – This will continuously cast Arcane Missiles, so you don’t accidentally stop you cast by clicking it to early.

Quick Decurse Macro

/cast [target=mouseover] Remove Lesser Curse

How it Works – This will remove the curse on whoever you mouseover.

Blink Camera Macro

/stopcasting
/cast Blink
/script FlipCameraYaw(180);

How it Works – This will cast Blink, then really quick flip your camera around.

Mana Gem Macro

#showtooltip
/cast [mod:ctrl] Conjure Mana Gem; Mana Gem

How it Works – If you hold down Ctrl you will conjure a Mana Gem. If you don’t hold it down it will use a Mana Gem.

Today on Macro Mage ( I sound like a tv announcer ) I will go over how to make a Macro step by step, so for now on you can just revert back to this post.

• First navigate to your Main menu and open up your Macro window or just hit /Macro.

• There should be two tabs General Macros and Yourname Macros. If you use the General tab you will make that Macro for all your characters, and Youname tab is if you want it for a certain character. So if you’re looking for a certain Mage Pvp Macro to put in your going to hit Yourname and not general.

• Under those two tabs is a big grid of boxes, and under the boxes is a single box which shows your currently selected Macro. Below that is the edit box which you will use to select the actually Macro.

• Ok now we actually start making a Macro for a Mage. First click the new tab. That will bring up a new window where you can chose whatever icon you want and put a name for it.

Note: if you hit the ? it will automatically pick the spell name icon.

• Now if you notice your Macro will be in the box grid. Which you can now start typing script into.

• Lastly after making the Mage Macro you just drag it out then place it on your action bar.

If you don’t know anything about script I will got over that in another post on Macro Mage. There are tons of different variations you can make for different spells to. Just to give you some ideals here are a few good ones to try out Mage Rotation Macro, Mage Trinket Macro, Mage Decurse Macro, and even a Mage Castsequence Macro.

Like I said before those are just a few there are tons of different ones. In the next couple of days I will post some of the ones I like the most so everyone can start using them right away.

If your anything like me and you love to use all kinds of Mage Macros , you also can’t resist keeping up with the latest Mage Addons  every time a new patch like 4.3 Hour of Twilight comes out. This list won’t be the best you normal ones like Auctioneer or Deadly Boss Mods. Instead there all Mage specific and some of them actually can’t even be used  by any other class in World of Warcraft.

Mage Nuggest – This would probably be your best bet if you were looking for a all around addon that can do everything. It tells you when everything procs for any spec and all has timers for things like sheep and ice barriers.

CombustionHelper – Obviously this is a Fire Mage specfic addon, but I wanted to make sure I through it in there. I really can’t do any kind of raids or dungeons without since it keeps track of all your dots for Combustion in a seperate bar very easy to see.

SpellStealer - Believe it or not Even with all the nerfs to spellsteal a lot of Mages still use it, me being one of them. This will place a really easy to see small frame on your interface of your current targets buffs your able to steal.
